Our Editorial Mission

UseEmoji.fun is an independent emoji reference library and toolset. Our mission is to provide accurate, original, and genuinely useful information about every emoji in the Unicode standard, alongside practical tools for copying, translating, and mixing emojis. We publish content that helps people understand what emojis mean, how they evolved, and how to use them effectively in digital communication.

Content Originality

All editorial descriptions, guides, and articles published on UseEmoji.fun are original works written by our editorial team. We do not scrape, copy, or republish content from other emoji reference sites. Our emoji descriptions are written from scratch, drawing on Unicode Consortium documentation, CLDR data, linguistic research, and observed usage patterns across social platforms. Each emoji detail page contains original descriptive text that we author and maintain.

Unicode Data Verification

The technical data on our emoji pages — including Unicode code points, official character names, emoji version numbers, and category classifications — is verified against the following authoritative sources:

  • Unicode Character Database (UCD): For official character names and code point assignments.
  • CLDR (Common Locale Data Repository): For emoji annotations, keywords, and sorting categories.
  • Unicode Emoji Charts: For emoji version history and category groupings.

When new emoji versions are released by the Unicode Consortium, we update our database and regenerate affected pages. Our database currently covers all emojis through Emoji 15.1.

Cross-Platform Rendering

Emoji artwork varies between platform vendors (Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft, etc.). We display the Unicode character itself rather than vendor-specific images, ensuring the emoji you copy renders using your device's native font.

Update Cadence

  • Emoji database: Updated within 30 days of each new Unicode release.
  • Emoji detail pages: Regenerated when the database is updated.
  • Blog articles: Reviewed annually for accuracy.
  • Category pages: Updated automatically when new emojis are added.

Correction Policy

If you find an error — an incorrect code point, a misleading description, or outdated information — please report it to hello@useemoji.fun. We investigate all reports within 5 business days and publish corrections as needed.

Editorial Team

Our content is created and reviewed by a small editorial team with expertise in digital communication, Unicode standards, and web accessibility. Technical data is cross-checked against Consortium sources before publication. See our About Us page for more.
